We are all storytellers and have autonomy over how and when our stories are shared. At SOI we strive to practice ethical storytelling.

Our Climate Voices (OCV) defines ethical storytelling “Ethical storytelling is the practice of honouring ourselves and others when sharing narratives. It is the practice of recognizing that stories are beautiful, powerful representations of self and that no one has just a single story. We contain multitudes.” OCV is an organization that aims to humanize the climate disaster through ethical storytelling as a tool for climate justice. We focus on uplifting voices on the frontlines of climate change including youth, Indigenous, immigrant, queer, people of color, women, and people from low income communities. We invite you to read about the 7 Principles of Ethical Storytelling and reflect on your climate story and storytelling in the context of the climate crisis.
