Grise Fiord is known as Aujuittuq in Inuktitut, which means “place that never thaws”. Despite the chilly temperatures, it’s known for being warmly hospitable and welcoming. Terry Noah, an SOI Antarctic Alum who lives there, is no exception as he is the perfect person to welcome visitors through his successful guiding and hunting business Ausuittuq Adventures (and make sure you’re well-fed with his country food business).

Not to mention he’ll make sure you’re well-fed, as he also runs a country food business that’s tackling food security too. You can catch a glimpse into life in Grise Fjord by reading Terry’s thoughtfully written and beautifully photographed posts on Ausuittuq Adventures Facebook Page here!
